Green Fluorescence, Brightfield, and Optional Phase Contrast
Use the LS560 Microscope (Lumascope) to visualize and capture high resolution widefield images comparable to those from traditional, high-cost microscopes. The LS560 utilizes an LED light source, Semrock filters, advanced optical engineering, and a CMOS sensor to provide near diffraction-limited (theoretical maximum) resolution. Powered only by a direct USB computer connection, the LS560 uses the same USB cable to send your photos, time-lapse series, and videos directly to your computer. And its compact size enables working inside challenging locations including incubators , hoods, and environmental chambers.
The new LS560 has an improved camera and optics plus a C-mount compared to the previous LS520 model, plus the accessible deck and improved phase contrast (optional) introduced in the LS520.
Features and Benefits
- Digital inverted microscope compatible with microplates, slides, flasks, dishes, microfluidic chips, custom labware
- Compact design and environmentally rugged; use in incubators, hoods, and environmental chambers over months
- Comes with Lumaview software for capture of images, time-lapse series, and live video
- Simple USB connection to your computer provides power and control
- Excellent resolution in ambient lighting conditions or with Phase Contrast Accessory
- Detects green fluorophores, including FITC, Fluo-4 and GFP
- Includes accessible deck for easy exchange of objectives
- Optional Phase Contrast Accessory (Olympus condenser) for imaging of unstained samples
The LS560 utilizes a Semrock Brightline®Basic filter set optimized for FITC and other similar fluorophores. The 3-filter set is comprised of 1 excitation filter, 1 emission filter, and 1 beam-splitting filter. The LS560 contains a high sensitivity monochrome CMOS sensor with a 1700×1700 pixel image. Because the emission filter is limited to 508-552 nanometers, brightfield images are monochromatic.

Included with the LS560
The LS560 comes with the new standardized deck that includes both the tab for mounting the Phase Contrast Accessory and the removable insert for easy objective change. On the underside of the left end of the deck are 2 tapped holes for mounting the optional Manual XY Stage (see Optional Accessories below).
The LS560 also comes with a USB power/communication cable for connecting to a computer, fluorescence shroud, and external power cord with country-appropriate plug for situations requiring brighter lighting (not typically needed).
The LS560 is controlled by Lumaview software that can be downloaded at no charge from the Etaluma website (see Resources/Downloads).
Objectives are sold separately (see Products/Objectives).
